December Favorites

It’s time for December favorites!! I hope you have had a wonderful month and that you have a happy New Year’s weekend. I’ve been doing some planning this week for the months to come and I really think 2017 will be a good year. I really, really love all of these favorites this month and I look forward to using them in the new year, also.

This Is Us

This new show on NBC is one that I’ve been hooked on this month. The show follows the lives of twins and their adopted brother, with flashbacks providing more background on their parents and previous life experiences. If you liked the show Parenthood, I think you’ll like this because the two shows remind me a lot of each other–mainly the tear-jerker moments. I really hope this show gets renwewed for a second season, especially for Justin Hartley’s sake–he’s been on way too many cancelled shows.

Dear Mushka Necklace

I heard about Dear Mushka on a podcast by Jamie Ivey and I love their products. This jewelry brand is minimalistic with purpose–each piece has a special meaning. I bought the Encounter necklace during a Black Friday sale and it’s been around my neck basically every day this month. The Encounter necklace is a dainty bend based on Psalm 116:2. If you are looking for some jewelry, I highly recommend you visit their website– Dear Mushka.

Scarlet & Gold T-Shirt

I absolutely love my Golden Leaf t-shirt from this brand. I found out about Scarlet & Gold through Instagram and I also like this brand because of their products with purpose. This t-shirt symbolizes turning over a new leaf and fresh, new starts. I always love a neutral, basic t-shirt anyway so this one was perfect for me. It’s really soft and there’s some distressed detail around the neckline and arms. I believe there is also a 20% off sale until the end of the year and you can use the discount “HOHOHO” at the checkout. Check out the website for more products and information– Scarlet & Gold.

L’Oreal Balm Gloss

I was in need of some moisturizing lip products this month and I’ve loved this brand and line of lipsticks. They apply really smooth and you can’t even tell that you’re wearing any lip products. I bought 2 shades during a BOGO 50% at Walgreens and these shades are perfect for me. Pink Satin is completely sheer on me and Nourishing Nude provides the slightest bit of color.

Neutrogena Body Oil

Oh boy. This one is a funny story. Actually it wasn’t funny at all. At the beginning of this month, I swore by this product and it was the perfect thing to use after getting out of the shower and that it was less hassle than using lotion. However, one night I had a VERY bad reaction and itched, scratched, and clawed at my skin for the next 3 days. I have never been so itchy in my entire life. So this quickly became an un-favorite. I love the scent though…so that’s still something. I just don’t think I’m going to risk trying it again because I don’t really enjoy feeling like I have poison ivy all over.

H2O+ Oasis Mist and Face Oasis Ultra Hydrator

I found these two products at TJMaxx (surprise, surprise) and I’ve used them everyday for the last month and a half. I’m always on the look out for inexpensive skin care products than the ones that I usually have to use to keep my skin under control. Each of these products were under $6 at TJMaxx, which is way less than the online or in-store cost. The Oasis Mist has been great for spritzing over the face when you feel like your skin is a little dry and the Ultra Hydrator smells like the ocean, is a gel-like consistency, is a calming blue, and works so well.

It Cosmetics Your Skin But Better CC Cream

New favorite foundation ever. This costs more but it is chemical-free, paraben-free, gluten-free, etc. I love the coverage that this product provides and how it makes the skin glow. I usually apply the CC Cream with a beauty sponge and it lasts on the skin for an entire day. Plus, this smells so nice.

I hope you’ve enjoyed this month’s favorites and I would love to hear what some of your have been. Stay tuned for more in 2017!!

Happy New Year and love from, Amy.
