Bonus Post: Makeup Looks for Valentines Day

Hi there! I know today is not a normal bloggins day but I really wanted to get this post in before Valentine’s Day. I think it’s fun to see how people do their makeup for special occasions, so I’m going to share with you three different makeup looks for Valentine’s Day. If you’re getting dressed up and going out, staying in, or just having a night to yourself–I hope these looks give you inspiration and make you feel special. Enjoy!

Base Makeup

PRIMER: Smashbox sample FOUNDATION: IT Cosmetics & Milani BROWS: Ulta MASCARA: Maybelline

I have been using a mixture of two different foundations lately to help give me a little extra coverage. My brows are almost grown back out again so I don’t need a ton of help when it comes to taming them–I just use this brow gel to help keep everything in place. And as far as mascara, this one has been amazing and the wand is almost like a comb–so it gets to the root of the lashes easily and gives extra volume.

Look #1

EYE SHADOW: Maybelline CREAM EYESHADOW: ColourPop LIPSTICK: ColourPop CREAM HIGHLGHTER: Laura Geller

For this look, I kept everything pretty neutral but added in lots of glow. I applied the cream eyeshadow first as a base to help hold the powder shadow. The color on ColourPop was Jinxie but I think it’s been discontinued. There are so many other pretty shades though and they’re all so affordable. The eyeshadow shade that I chose is a rose gold and had a subtle hint of pink. Next I put some of the highlighter stick onto my foundation brush and then dabbed it on the high points of my cheeks. I finished off the look with a nude shade lipstick–the ones from ColourPop are also so creamy and they are so affordable.

Look #2

EYE SHADOW: Real Her (received in a FFF Box) LIPSTICK: Jane Iredale sample BLUSH: Milani (similar one here)

This next look is all about pink! I mixed two different eye shadow shades to give a pink flush to the eyelids. Next I added some powder blush to the cheeks–Milani blushes are so nice to use and can be found in so many stores! Lastly, I finished off the look with a lip and cheek stain to the lips. I like that this look still has a lot of pink but it’s still kind of subtle.

Look #3

BRONZER: Physicians Formula HIGHLIGHTER: Maybelline EYE LINER: IT Cosmetics sample BROWS: ColourPop LIPSTICK: ColourPop

For this look, I went with a bright statement lip and subtle face makeup. I think I’m at the end of the line with my much-loved bronzer (as you can see). I like that this bronzer is matte and doesn’t have any shimmer in it. I did add a little bit of the highlighter to the high points of my cheeks to help the finish not look to0 matte and flat though. I tight-lined the upper water lines of my eye lids with a liner, to help my mascara look a little more dramatic. And I did go ahead and fill in my brows a little, just to help give a more polished look. The lipstick is one of the new ColourPop Lux Lipstick’s and so far, I love it! They glide on so smooth and the color seemed to last quite a while.
