5 Ways to Relax

There is nothing I love better than being able to come home at the  end of a long, stressful, busy day and relax, be a couch potato, vegetable, etc. It’s so important to take care of ourselves, prevent burnout, and find ways to rest. I’ve found some things that work for me when it comes to winding down and relaxing and I’m excited to share them with you.

Scent

Aromatherapy is very effective for me and is one of my favorite ways to relax. I love any kind of herbal, beachy, and fresh scents. My favorite forms of scents are Bath and Body Works Wallflowers and candles. TJMaxx is my favorite place to buy candles because you can find the large Yankee Candles for much less.

Skin

There’s nothing like taking off the makeup and slapping on a nice face mask. I feel much better at end of the day when I know that I’m taking care of my skin–because that is the first place I notice any symptoms of sleep deprivation and stress.

Snack

Thank God for comfort food!! Sometimes all you need is a bowl of ice cream, popcorn, chocolate, frozen fruit, or mac and cheese. Or if you choose to eat all of these at the same time– no judgment.

Show

One of my nightly rituals is to watch a show or two or watch a movie. Some of my favorite shows are Boy Meets World, Royal Pains, Call the Midwife, Friends, Gilmore Girls, White Collar, Bones, and basically any British mini-series. A friend of mine recently introduced me to Acorn TV, which is the Netflix of British tv shows. Thanks, Katie 🙂

Sleep

Go to bed early! Yes, you might feel like an old person but getting enough sleep is one of the best things you can do to help your body re-charge. Set a time for yourself to at least be in bed and you’ll be able to officially wind down that much better.

Don’t forget to subscribe if you never want to miss a post and stay tuned for more exciting things!

Love from, Amy.
