Happy Thanksgiving my friends! I hope you are spending time with loved ones, relaxing, and eating some good food. While, I think, we should always be looking for things we are thankful for on a daily basis–today is the perfect day to reflect back on those things.
I had other plans/ideas for the blog during November but life got in the way this month and my focus was needed elsewhere. I do, hopefully, have some fun posts planned for December though, so stay tuned.
This month I have been thinking about things that I am thankful for and these are the top things that have stuck out to me:
Pillows
What is better than a pillow (*or 5-6*, guilty) at the end of a long day? I am thankful for the comfort that pillows bring to give you a good night of sleep or a good power nap.
Friends
I can honestly say that I have the best friends. I am thankful for my various circles of friends and the growth in relationships, new and old. I am thankful for my local friends and my far away friends and the quality time that I’ve been able to have with some of them this year.
Family
My family is my rock and I would not want any other one if I had the choice. My parents are wonderful and it has been amazing to see them become the best grandparents to my sisters’ children. My siblings are my best friends and I know that no mater what, we will always be there for each other. And then there are the little people in the family–no words can adequately explain how much joy, life, and heart-bursting love they have brought into my life.
Laughter
I am thankful for humor and the ability to laugh. Laughter is one of the best things to make me feel better or to give me a boost. I am so thankful that my family and friends all have a pretty quirky, crazy, and unique sense of humor (and that they put up with mine).
Weekends
Duh. I am very thankful for days off and times to relax and refresh.
Seasons
I am thankful that there are different seasons of life and for the literal season changes. I am thankful, first of all, that the weather does not stay the same 365 days a year. Fall and Spring are my favorite seasons and I get so excited anticipating their arrival. I am also thankful for the various stages, or seasons, in life. While these seasons may be joyful, stressful, good, bad, etc., I know that they are for a purpose and they are shaping me into the person that God wants me to be.
Cameras
I am so thankful for technology and the ability to capture memories and experiences on film or in a photo.
Taste Buds
I LOVE food and I’m so thankful that not all food tastes the same. I am thankful for flavor, spice, etc.
My Lord
I am thankful for the never changing, always faithful, deeply loving, and all controlling God– my Jesus. Without Him, I am nothing. Thanks be to God!
I hope this post has sparked your thoughts and I would love to know what you are thankful for! Have a wonderful rest of your day and I’ll be back on the blog next week!
