What to Expect from The Declare Conference

Last year I had the privilege of attending The Declare Conference in Dallas, TX. I am so excited that I’ll be able to return to the conference this October and can’t wait for all that I will hear and learn.

The Declare Conference gave me such encouragement but also inspiration with my writing, so I’m really looking forward to receiving that again. The conference is a great way to meet other bloggers, writers, podcasters, etc who share the same passion of telling others about Jesus and sharing His love. I’m also a conference nerd, so I’m excited for a few days away to learn. 

I will link all the conference information below but if you are able to go (and I highly recommend that you do), here are some things you can expect from attending the conference.

You will be encouraged.

There’s really no way that you can’t leave this conference and not be encouraged. From the main sessions, mastermind groups, meeting and talking with other women, your soul will definitely be uplifted.

You will be inspired.

If you’re in a bit of a writing rut (like I’ve been for a few months), this conference is the one for you. Declare helps to re-establish your “why” and purpose, while also inspiring you to be a better communicator. You’ll learn tools for social media and learn how to use programs effectively.

You will meet like-minded women of God.

It’s such a great feeling to be in a room surrounded by women who are all there for the same purpose–to communicate the love of God. I really challenged myself with getting out of my comfort zone last year and I’m so glad that I did because I was able to meet so many women and hear their stories.

You will hear incredible speakers.

I’m so excited about the speaker lineup this year and can’t wait to hear what they have to say. Last year’s speakers were amazing and provided such wisdom, insight, and encouragement for all different forms of communicating.

You will come home with lots of merch.

Last year there were so many awesome vendors at Declare and I came home with lots of books, shirts, totes, and other goodies. 

You will experience amazing worship.

You just will. And you might even cry a little.

You will literally be well fed.

Food was amazing last year and the Declare team was so accommodating with providing meals for those with Celiac Disease–which I do not take for granted. One evening there were also food trucks and a coffee truck that came to the conference.

You will not regret going to Declare.

I promise you won’t. I’m so glad that it worked out for me to go again this year because I know I would have regretted not going.

Planning for the Week Ahead | Including PDF

Last Monday I shared a blog post with tips for staying organized during the work week. One of the tips I shared was to have a day set aside to plan out your week. Something that really helps me, on the days that I plan, is to make lists. I’ll make lists of things to do, errands to run, things I need to get at the store, important events during that week, lists of lists I need to make (haha, just kidding), etc. In this blog post, I’ve created a PDF for you to print and share, if making lists is also helpful for you.

Because life can get busy and hectic, I also think that it’s super easy to overlook the small and/or exciting things about life. On this list worksheet, I also included a space for you to write down things that you will be looking forward to that week. I think having this mindset can also prevent burnout because you’re not just focused on the things that might make you feel overwhelmed or stressed out.

Tips to Stay Organized During the Work Week

Today is a new day and the start of a new week! I sometimes dread Monday mornings (but then again don’t we all, haha) because I know that it’ll usually be a busy week and I already look forward to sleeping-in the next weekend. Although, Mondays are also a day for resetting and getting yourself in gear for the week ahead. Today I’m going to share with you some tips that I do, quite a bit, to help myself stay on track and organized during the busy work week.

1. Have a day set aside to plan the next week

If I don’t have anything that I need to do that morning, Saturday is usually my planning day. I will write down a list of things I need to accomplish that week, write down any important events or meetings, plan blog posts, etc. I like to keep the major events on my iPhone calendar and then write down all the details/lists in my planner. When I am able to do this, it helps me have a much better mindset about juggling everything in the next few days. I also like being able to physically check things off of my lists and it helps me to feel a lot more productive.

2. Put things back where they belong

This might be a “no duh” point but it’s one that I’m tryyyying to be better at doing. Some weeks I’m more on top of just managing all my stuff and then other weeks–everything just gets thrown into piles. Make yourself get into the habit of putting your things back where they go as soon, or soon after, as you get home. Or set a timer for yourself at the end of the day, for maybe 10-15 minutes, and see how much you can get done before the timer goes off. Racing against the clock is a good motivator for me and it also motivates me that I won’t have to clean as much the next day.

3. Have a general idea what you’re going to eat that week

I am not the type of person who can meal plan/prep for the entire next week. Some days I’m at home during the evenings and others are spent doing various things from early in the morning to late at night. I try to have at least 2-3 days worth of groceries for the meals that I need to make at home and for meals that I can have for on-the-go. I may eat out a few times during the week and so it just doesn’t help me, right now, to plan out an entire week worth of meals. If I at least know what I have available at home, it usually helps me a lot and doesn’t leave me scrambling to figure out what I’m going to make.

4. Lay out everything you need for the next day

This tip is so helpful for me because I know where everything is the next morning and I don’t have to spend a lot of time hunting for things. I will lay out my clothes, shoes, coat, purse, computer bag, tote for my lunch, and anything else I need and leave it all in one spot. By laying everything out, it also saves me a lot of time in the mornings because I’m not trying to figure out what I want to wear.
